Architecture & Margate History

Margate Local History

https://www.margatelocalhistory.co.uk/

This Margate History website is amazing, compiled by local historian Anthony Lee. It's full of maps, photographs, drawings, directories and other fascinating information about the history of Margate, especially the urban and architectural history, about how the town grew. Some of the maps, like this one from 1907, have 'hotspots' which take you to photographs or drawings of the buildings on that site, in that time. https://www.margatelocalhistory.co.uk/HotSpotViewer/z1907Hotspots.htm
